March 8th marks the anticipated release of the sophomore effort from
post-hardcore band The Color Morale entitled
My Devil In Your Eyes.
Produced by Joey Sturgis (The Devil Wears Prada, Attack Attack),
Devil In Your Eyes
is marked with an intensity and musicianship that is a
trademark of the band's chosen genre. Lead Vocalist Garrett Rapp sings
with a passion that is matched by few and his sugary clean vocals on
tracks such as "The Dying Hymn" and "This Last Song is Yours" are a
great contrast to his brutal aggressiveness on "Demon Teeth" and
"Quote on Quote." Guitarists Ramon Mendoza and John Bross weave a
twisted tale of unrelenting aggression and textured ambiance that leave
plenty of room for Rapp's vocals to remain a focal point of the music they
create. Topped off by the killer drumming of skinman Steve Carey
providing intense attack and insane stop on a dime breakdown abilities,
The Color Morale have crafted a solid effort that puts them in a position to
remain in the scene for a long time to come. Rating:
