| Mongolian powerhouse The HU brought a welcoming cultural musical infusion with the region's traditional instruments--Tumur Khuur, Morin Khuur, Tovshuur, Tsuur, jaw harp--and natural throat singing styles--Khoomei, Kargyraa, Sygyt--all bridged together with western music styles to create layers of building hard folk rock lined with undertones of goth and industrial to produce an inviting wall of sound. The live energy pulsated with repetitive riffs of catchy hypnotic grooves intense enough to inspire spirited, unison headbanging. The hunnu rock band recently released their debut The Gereg and have collaborated with Jacoby Shaddix of Papa Roach ("Wolf Totem"), Lzzy Hale of Halestorm ("Song Of Women"), and Ashes To New ("Yuve Yuve Yu"). The HU is currently touring overseas and will return to the states this spring. |
