It was a beautiful July night in Cincinnati when legendary rocker John Fogerty came to town. I had circled this show on
my calander the day I heard he was coming.

The PNC Pavillion at Riverbend Music Center was about two thirds full when John and the boys took the stage.
Dressed in his plaid shirt and bandanna scarf, he didn't waste any time warming up and went straight into a driving
"Travelin' band." A smile quickly appeared across my face as the sweet sounds of the band filled the air.

Following up to a great version of "Travelin' Band" was another beauty in "Green River." John and the guys were
smiling and having a great time on this night. The audio mix was perfect and John's voice sounded pure as ever.

At the conclusion of "Green River" John told a short story about his time at the Woodstock Festival back in 1969.
He mentioned some of the culture that was happening there and said that he didn't partake in the marijuana smoking.
The drummer (Kenny Aronoff) plays ba-da-mump crash as Fogerty pointed a finger and asked, "Where you there?"
It was a comical moment, but this lead to a more serious note as he mentioned getting home after the festival and
writing the next song, "Who'll Stop the Rain."

The hits flowed all night and I was certainly glad I came. If you get the chance, be sure to check out John Fogerty live,
it's worth every dollar.
