While snow began to accumulate in Marion, The Food Dude was on the road
making its debut Monday—delivering food items including enchiladas, subs, ribs
and pasta entrees from local restaurants to residents, visitors in hotels and
business employees who chose to stay safe inside away from the snow.

“Marion has some of the best eateries around, but delivery service was not
available for many of them,” said Joe Brammer, The Food Dude co-founder and
life long Marion resident.  “Many people default to pizza delivery.”

The Food Dude restaurant delivery service was created by Joe Brammer and his
wife Nicki Brammer, both having a goal to expand menu options for Marion
residents and visitors.

“We want to get our partnering restaurant’s menu items to people that normally
would not or have not frequented their restaurants,” Joe Brammer said.

Currently the delivery business offers lunch and dinner menu options from
Conway’s Steakhouse Grill and Pub, El Campesino Mexican Restaurant, The Tin
Duck Tavern and Subway.  The married couple of 11 years said they are meeting
with several other restaurants in the coming weeks with intentions to add more
menu choices.

“We have a written partnership with featured restaurants ensuring quick delivery
and exceptional customer service,” Joe Brammer said.

The Food Dude was a long time in the making.

“We talked about doing this a couple of years ago but our careers wouldn’t allow
us the time to dedicate to it,” Joe Brammer said.

While Joe Brammer works for Marion County, he said Nicki Brammer was laid off
as an HR and Recruiting professional, leaving them with two options.

"Due to a slow economy and few employment opportunities, we had two choices:
relocate or start our business here in Marion,” Joe Brammer said.  “The timing
was right to launch The Food Dude restaurant delivery service.”

Joe Brammer, a Marion Harding High School graduate and graduate from Ohio
State University, said The Food Dude currently has two dispatchers and five
available drivers with plans to add more staff as business increases.

The FoodDudeDelivers.com guest book page and its affiliated Facebook pages
have shown positive consumer interest through supportive feedback, suggestions
and comments.

“We are eager for Marion citizens to take advantage of this service and to add
more businesses to our growing list of partnering restaurants,” Joe Brammer said.

The Food Dude offers restaurant delivery service in Marion seven days a week—
Monday through Friday 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., Saturdays and
Sundays noon to 9 p.m.

Orders must be a minimum of $10 and a $4 service fee is added to orders placed
from The Food Dude’s featured restaurants.
